  1. There is a town (Talkeetna) in Alaska that has a cat as their mayor for 15 years.
  2. More money was spent on buying Central Park’s land than buying all of Alaska
  3. There is a pizza company in Nome, Alaska that delivers pizza by plane.
  4. A man legally named Santa Claus was elected to city council in North Pole, Alaska
  5. Alaska has a longer coastline than all of the other U.S. states combined.
  6. Every year each Alaskan resident gets paid just for living in the state.
  7. The northern lights actually make noise, but it is rare to be able to hear them.
  8. More than half of the world’s glacier can be found in Alaska
